I think it is me dreaming of summer nights, weddings that go to 1 am and all that goes with those fun events that has me thinking about sunflower weddings. Here are a few pictures of some of the great ways to use sunflowers in your wedding. I also love using sunflowers as a little goes a long way.

I really think a traditional white page lined rectangle guest book is not very fun and that it is unlikely you will look back on it and remember people fondly. So instead I have these suggestions to add some fun to your guest book.
Make a Guest Books with your engagement pictures: a few photographers I know do a great job doing this, or you can also get the CD of your pictures and do one yourself. This is a great way to showcase the great photos you took for your engagement shots and a way you will enjoy looking back at your guest book by having a chance to look at those professions phots of you two as well.
Guest books with pictures from trips & throughout your relationship (shutterfly, snapfish, etc.) I love the use of this photobook as well as you can see the progression of your relationship and use the fun self portraits you took of yourselves at the beach or at Disney. I really think guests enjoy this one the most as well and you will be able to enjoy a collection of photos of you while looking at your guest book as well.
Use an 8″ x 8″ scrapbook and let a few guests sign in on each page. Then use the photo snapshots from your wedding, to make a wedding scrapbook with the guests wishes being part of that scrapbook. I always suggest permanent markers when I do this and you can customize the papers you want to use as well.

Okay, so I know that saying that napkin folding is not one of my favorite things to have to choose seems un-event planner like, but it is. They are very old fashioned and not always as contemporary as I like the decor at some events and receptions to feel. So that would speak well to why I am in love with napkin rings.
There are some many easy fun ways to accessorize your napkins and add to your decor. Just add in some ribbon, or material or even something a little more unusual too! I think natural materials are also a fun way to make napkin rings tie in with your theme and bendable twig material is one I am already planning to use for a fall event.
Another way to use napkin rings is to make them the place cards at each spot. This is a way to combine fun and function at your event. And you won’t have to worry about what napkin fold you want.

A classy, yet easy napkin ring of fabric and ribbon!

These are on Etsy- a great place for inspiration!

When I thought about what I wanted to feature more on my blog, I realized it was the event spaces I love to work in was a great place to start.
One of those is the Coralville Brown Deer Golf Course.
The room is not your standard square room, but the shape works well for events. The service is done by Marriott chefs and staff so that is a bonus as well.
Its well built and has a beautiful mission style with craftsman wood throughout. And last but not least, you can have the outdoor feeling with still being inside as it has large windows overlooking the golf course. It also has a balcony so guests can go outside for nice nights as well.
Check it out today!

I like to think I work with the best small businesses in the area on weddings that I do and have done. One of those businesses that I would like to highlight is FIRST KISS VIDEO. Meghan Anderson and team do a great job getting the shots that allow the bride and groom to enjoy their video for years to come. Need more reasons to work with them? How about these?
Who has three camera angles? First Kiss Video
Who has wireless microphones and direct sound recording? First Kiss Video
Who has an experienced, yet fun and friendly staff? First Kiss Video
Who has unbeatable prices and BBB certified? First Kiss Video

I love Etsy, I should just say that up front. So when I was researching vintage wedding and vintage glamour, an etsy site about wedding hankies popped up and I just had to find out more!
What I found were these great wedding hankies, you can have them personalized to make them even more special. I truly think a parent would cherish them more than you would know.

A great choice for the bride's dad!

What a great way to thank his mom!

I wanted to share a little about a local photographer I have gotten to meet and know. Kara Hinzie is the owner and lead photographer at KV Photography and I wanted to share some great shots that she has shown me that makes me love what I see so far. I really think it is worth talking to her about how she operates for weddings and other life events and see if she would be a great fit for you to work with. I know I am excited to get the opportunity to see her work at one of my events soon! Enjoy these fun samples!

A great close up with feeling and energy!

An artistic yet fun shot of the bride!

A fun engagement photo shot!
